Books I Loved: The Sacred Chain by Jim Stump

If you trust in Jesus and you trust in science as I, you have experienced difficulty trying to reconcile both. For many years, I kept those two "trusts" at arms length, and then they crashed together in 2016. I had to figure out my new paradigm and the Biologos organization was instrumental in this. 

Jim stump hosts the Biologos podcast. I always liked him and the podcast. But this book takes him to a new level in my eyes. His perspective on evolution and how acceptance of that can DEEPEN our faith resonated with me. Recently I scribbled some thoughts on evolution in this blog, and his thoughts, though better communicated and more expansive, meshed so well with my own thoughts and questions! 

Jim's paradigm is such a beautiful reconciliation of evolution with faith that I wish everyone in my faith community that believes in science would read it. I believe that if these beliefs were common in the church, there would be many fewer young people leaving the church.
